Welcome to Benjamin's Landing! Benjamin’s Landing, located in Harford County Maryland, is owned and operated by Ben and Bobbie Lowe. Ben, a dairy farmer and Bobbie, a retired school teacher have hoped to create a place totally different from any other agricultural venue. There are a variety of finished gourds at The Landing’s roadside stand. From birdhouses, seasonal shelf-sitters and luminaries to bowls, necklaces, yard signs and flower vases are displayed for purchase. Cleaned, raw gourds are also ready for purchase. You can make your own at home or set up a time to come and create a project. The Landing offers educational workshops for groups of five or more. The workshops can be held in our outdoor facility or we can travel to your location. Workshops demonstrate practical applications of our agricultural products and encourage the sharing of ideas. Ben and Bobbie have tried to vary the topics hoping to strike your interest. Asparagus and strawberries are sold in season as well as sweet corn, tomatoes and various garden vegetables. Ben combines the sunflower fields in the fall. The seed is sold along with gourd bird feeders. Cut flowers are also available at the stand. If you are looking for something different to do and you don’t want to travel far…come to The Landing! 1770’s Covered Farm Wagon Several years ago Benjamin's Landing obtained a vintage 1770 farm wagon from the Collenbrook Farm, an historical sight in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. In the 1970’s a California movie company was making a documentary about the life of George Washington. The film was made in Philadelphia. This wagon is one of the three that was used in the film. After the documentary had been made the Pennsylvania Plantation purchased the three wagons and eventually one was sold to the Upper Darby Historical Society. The Landing was pleased to get the wagon. Through a grant from the Agricultural Marketing Cooperative of Harford County the wagon was refurbished. The iron work on the wagon is original. The wagon is displayed April through November. On your trip to The Landing be sure to visit our wagon. We are extremely proud of it and like to share it with others. The wagon is used in parades and displayed at community events. |
